As we laughed and enjoyed memories of this past year, like camping together and going to the Dells together, running 5K's together, and game nights and bonfires I realized two things. One, I spend a lot of time with these people and am so grateful to God for them. They are my encouragement and motivation from Him and I look forward to our times together. I never laugh so hard as with that group of friends!
And two, God is so abundantly amazing and good! He gave me a full, busy, wonderful year; 365 days to glorify, honor, and praise him, and enjoy all that he's given me. There were definitely hard days and days I wish I could erase; there were moments when I wondered if God were near, but overall, when I look at 2012, I can say it was good.
As I look ahead to 2013 I am excited to see what God has in store for me and my family. It's a great opportunity to think about how I want to better my life and live more for the Lord. I don't often make resolutions at the beginning of the year but this year I've decided to make just a couple. One, I want to spend more time with God -pray more, read his word more, dwell in his presence more. We can't ever do this enough and can't ever get enough of him. I've found that once I start reading and praying more I want more of it. Another resolution I've made is to get stronger. I know my body could use some good workouts and though I'm a busy mom of seven I know it's worth taking some time for myself. It will only benefit everyone in my family. And the third is to be more diligent about schooling my kids. I know I could do better in spending time with the kids, teaching them more about this world and the Creator who blessed us with it. It's always fun to learn more and see my kids excited to discover new things!
Most of all, I want to honor and glorify my great God with each of my days this coming year. May he be blessed as I strive to live my life more in tune with Him and His will!
Happy New Year!
